Cheloniceras (Epicheloniceras) quadrituberculatum (Collignon, 1962):
A 1.6 inch (4.2 cm.) Epicheloniceras from Madagascar with "major ribs depressed on siphon and with ventral and lateral tubercles." A very rare find in a mixed box of whole ammonites from Madagascar. Originally identified as C. E. tschernyschewi a closer examination revealed that the external tubercles are divided as Collignon described for the closely related C. E. quadrituberculatum.
This specimen exactly matches Maurice Collignon's 1962 description of C. (Epicheloniceras) quadrituberculatum.
