Large Moroccan Palaeoammonoid; Approximate dimensions: 4.5" (11.4 cm) x 3.5" (8.9 cm) x 1.6" (4.1 cm) polished fossil ammonoid weighing 15 ounces. This is the largest decent grade Moroccan palaeoammonoid we have seen in a while. The suture pattern suggests that this is an example of Manticoceras. That would place it in Family Gephuroceratidae (Frech 1897), Order Agoniatitida . There has been disagreement on which Order to place this genus in, we are going with the most recent interpretation we have, (Ruzhencev 1957.)
